Rachael Ray "Ducky" Pictures...

Some genius discovered that he could occasionally pause a recording of Rachael Ray on television and then get some screen captures of her that are less than flattering.

Interesting that someone who professes to dislike Rachael Ray soooooo much would go through the time and effort to (a) record a program, (b) pause the program at particularly selected intervals, (c) save the resulting screen caps of Rachael Ray, (d) publish them online.

One might think that something like that would be more likely from a secret Rachael Ray lover than someone who dislikes our EVOO-toting, yummo television cook!

In any case, I happen to think that even those pictures that are supposed to be so "funny" to the anti-Rachael crowd are still pretty.

Make up your own mind by visiting this Rachael Ray picture collection.

Rachael Ray's French Dip Sammies...

According to bloghungry, which bills itself as "urban food and drink from a small town gay boy living in West Hollywood," nothing can really beat a good French dip sandwich:

"The French Dip Sandwich could be the world's most perfect sandwich. It's bold, juicy, and comes with it's own dipping sauce. There are plenty of mediocre French Dips in restaurants and fast food chains and I've tried them all. The secret to a good one is in the quality of the beef and the au ju. This is a solid recipe (from Rachael Ray) that you can have ready in about 10-15 minutes. Just make sure to get the roast beef sliced from your deli counter."

If you want to read Rachael Ray's French dip sandwich recipe and marvel at the photo of the blog's author munching on the tasty treat, you need only follow this link.

Michael Wants Rachael Ray to Cook at his Place...

Michael Donovan wants to know how he could get Rachael Ray to come to his house to cook him a supper.

That's a good question, Michael. One that all of us would love to have an answer for, I am sure.

If you have any ideas about how Michael might convince Rachael Ray to stop by his place to whip up a delicious meal in a half hour or so, he is accepting suggestions here.

365 Meals by Rachael Ray, as cooked by Di and Debbie...

Di and Debbie have an interesting plan... They are attempting to cook each and every one of Rachael Ray's 365 recipes from her 365-No Repeats cookbook.

Not only are they preparing all of these dishes... They are also providing all of us with a rundown of each recipe and their opinion of the outcomes.

Occasionally, they make a few adjustments. I am sure Rachael Ray would be AOK with that! For instance, a recent effort at Rachael's fajita burgers involved the use of a meatless alternative with some apparently tasty results:

"Anyway, instead of using ground beef or chicken, I took a Morningstar Farms Philly Cheesesteak burger (they have cheese, onions and peppers already in them! Yum) and put some of the seasonings on the patty before I cooked it. I used chili powder (added a nice zing), cumin (not really noticeable but it was the something that makes you go hmmm…), and some grill seasoning."

You should check out their culinary adventures. You can find the running assessment of Rachael Ray's 365 delicacies here.

Rachael Ray's Turkey Corn Chili

Now that sounds yummo, huh?

Well you can find the recipe for Rachael Ray's chili using turkey right here.

Nice short ingredient list. Seemingly simple preparation. All of the hallmarks of a Rachael Ray classic. At least one person other than the individual who submitted the recipe to Recipezaar.com tried it. They give it a rave review:

"Made this tonight for supper, and it was very good. Only change was I added a can of black beans. This will be a nice change from the regular chili. I cant wait to have this again."

Sounds good! Want to read this Rachale Ray recipe? You can do it here. Oh, and yes, it does require EVOO.

Speaking of Rachael Ray and the State of the Union...

After the last post about the dude who turned off Bush to check out Rachael Ray, comes this offering...

The author was discussing whether or not political speeches as TV events and mentioned Rachael in the process, stating:

"My response was, Well, I don’t think it will be showing on the Food Network, with the ever-perky Rachael Ray providing viewers with special quick receipes for SOTU party treats or hors d’oeuvres. (”Mmmmm . . . They’re soooo . . . good. Just like freedom. It’s cool!”)"

No EVOO at the SOTU!

I couldn't pass up the dovetailing thing there... The original source for this hypothetical vision can be found right here.

Rachael Ray More Entertaining than Prez Bush

Googycubb wrote:

"Anyway, the State of the Union was on last night. I watched about 10 min of it and he started giving me a head ache and I just so don't care what that blowhard has to say, So I changed the channel and watched some Rachel Ray on Food TV. She was in LA and Palm Springs."

This was part of a rundown of his yesterday.

Personally, I suffered through the entire State of the Union Address. My love for Rachael Ray is rivaled only by my weird sense of obligation to watch addresses of that sort.

In hindsight, my viewing choice was poor. Rachael Ray in Palm Springs would have been much more entertaining, enlightening, honest and factually accurate.

Oooops! I just alienated all the red-state RR fans, didn't I? Look, don't take offense. I just don't think it was his best outing. Rachael Ray, on the other hand, generally delivers the goods!

Interested in the guy's life? Why not read about it?

Don't Just Read about Rachael Ray...Cook something!

I found this reference to Rachael Ray in the Morning Mail:

"Rachel Ray is on the fast track to mogulville with her three shows about food, her magazine and now a talk show."

The interesting part about the piece, however, was not the RR mention. Instead, it was the author's observations about the nature of cooking, creativity and the value of doing.

The author invites us to "Try your hand in the kitchen. Invent a new recipe and submit it here!"

Not a bad idea at all. Read the whole thing and supply that recipe here.

Concerned about Rachael Ray's Reach

The Reluctant Texan has an interesting site. Among the offerings was a brief posting about Ms. Rachael Ray.

Has she gone too far? Is her media celebrity too substantial. This author seems concerned:

"While I appreciate her practical approach to food prep, I have to wonder if she has gone to far. How much do really need of any one tv personality? There aren't too many entertainment outlets still available for her to tap into. Next time around I fully expect her to introduce the Rachel Ray Network."

That's about all the site offers about Rachael Ray, but there is other good reading to be had over there.

Rachael Ray Impresses

I found a person detailing their contact with Rachael Ray at a book signing. According to the writer, she was a gem.

"So I found myself in the line of Rachel Ray admirers hoping to get an autograph for Rodney and I did. Rachel Ray was a really nice person and even posed for a picture with me…I finally appeared on the bulletin board of Rodney’s office only because I was in the photograph with Rachel. Season also got a signed photograph for her husband. We’re lucky she even signed them for us. We were the only women in line not getting a cookbook or recipe signed as we pathetically asked for a photo to be signed to someone else. This was pretty good for us though, as we got to spend more money on ourselves in NYC instead of on a present for these two."

The post I am referencing talks a lot about Rachael Ray and the efforts of the author to duplicate one of RR's meals. Yummo or Blah? Gotta read this to find out.
