Who's the Boss, Tony? That's Right! Rachael Ray...

As noted here and elsewhere, Rachael Ray's new television talk show will be making its debut in September. I know we can hardly wait.

Television, however, is finite at any given moment. If a new show appears, something else must go. There are but 24 horus in a given day of programming. So, Rachael Ray's show is going to hit the airwaves... Who, you may wonder, will be hitting the pavement?

Tony Danza has been displaced by Rachael Ray.

"Danza’s time slot has already been given to Rachael Ray’s upcoming show, we’re told. According to the buzz at rival talk show “Live! With Regis & Kelly,” Buena Vista execs Gwynne Thomas and Roni Selig have decided to cancel Danza. “[Thomas and Selig] came to New York recently and were supposed to tell Tony, but chickened out,” said one insider. “They are afraid Tony will be so upset that he won’t be able to go on with the live shows every morning.” The Buena Vista suits will wait until a two-week hiatus in March. “Tony will get on a plane and fly home to L.A., and the execs will shut down the show,” we’re told."

Sorry, Tony. Sorry you lost the show and sorry the execs chickened out and didn't come tell you that Ms. Ray had done you in... You seem like a nice guy, but if anyone wants to know "Who's the boss?" Tony Danza better be deferential and admit that it is Rachael Ray.

I found out about the Oprah-endorsed Ray show chasing the Taxi alumn off of the tube here.
