Rachael Ray Christmas Just Like Yours!

A Seattle Times profile of Rachael Ray does a great job overviewing her career and explaining why she is so darn popular.

I thought, considering the upcoming holidays, this part of the new Rachael Ray article was especially timely:

"Ray is just like you, if you're inexhaustible. On the day of her interview, Ray had a book signing until 9 p.m. She then planned to get Indian takeout — yes, she does sometimes get takeout — and stay up all night wrapping Christmas and Hanukkah gifts. She usually sleeps 4 ½ to 5 hours a night.

The next day she was leaving on her annual eight-city holiday book tour. In each city, she signs 1,000 books. The stores hand out wristbands to control the crowds. She pops out two books a year."

See, Rachael Ray Christmas' are busy and hectic, too. Just like ours.

Of course I don't sign a 1,000 of my own books every day, but the part about wrapping presents was on point.

In any case, it is an awesome little article and is worth a read. If you want some good, positive coverage of Rachael Ray, her magazine and her burgeoning empire, look at this.

Although the pomegranate martini doesn't appeal to me all that much, I do like the idea of making a fudge wreath. I might just print that recipe off and give it a try. You gotta love Rachael Ray. Christmas? Gotta did that, too. Put them together and it's d*mn near unbeatable... Am I right?

Well, I hope everyone, including Rachael Ray, has a great holiday. I am going to think about that fudge wreath some more!

Rachael Ray Christmas Recipe

'Tis the season, so I thought I would pass along a great Christmas recipe from Rachael Ray. Rachael Ray's Christmas pasta is a real treat! You gotta try it this holiday season.

I found the recipe as part of an article here.

CHRISTMAS PASTA

1 pound rigatoni

2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO) (2 turns of the pan)

1/4 pound pancetta, chopped

1/4 pound bulk hot Italian sausage (no bulk? Split a link open)

1/4 pound bulk sweet Italian sausage

1/2 pound ground sirloin

1/2 pound ground veal

1/2 teaspoon allspice, eyeball it in your palm

Coarse black pepper

1 carrot, peeled and finely chopped

1 medium yellow onion, peeled and finely chopped

4 garlic cloves, crushed

1/2 cup dry red wine, a couple of glugs

1 cup beef stock or broth

1 28-ounce can crushed tomatoes

1/4 cup flat-leaf parsley (a generous handful), finely chopped

While the water and pasta work, heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon EVOO (1 turn of the pan). Add the pancetta to one half of the pan; the sausage, both hot and sweet, to the other. Break up the sausage into bits and brown while the pancetta renders, then combine and cook together another minute or so. Remove to a plate with a slotted spoon. Add the"

Rachael Ray 365 Idea

I am getting a copy of Rachael Ray's "365: No Repeats" for Christmas. I snooped. Little does the giver know I have had a copy for some time now. Still, it is the thought that counts.

Anyway, I was thinking of this Rachael Ray cookbook, which promises to be one of the hottest Christmas gifts out there, when it occured to me how much fun it would be to see someone make each and every one of the 365 meals in a year.

There's no way I could manage it. But there has to be someone out there who is crazy enough to try to do a new Rachael Ray recipe every day for a year, right?

If you happen to be that Rachael Ray fan, and have stumbled in, please leave a note so we can track your progress.

Longshot, I know.

Hard to get to See Rachael at Signing

Rachael Ray did a book signing at White Flint Mall. One fan, Natasha, hoped to get a signed copy of Rachael's new book. Unfortunately, things just didn't work out.

Excerpt:

"When I arrived at the Borders in White Flint mall, the line was absolutely ridiculous... and not only that, apparently a ticket was required (to wait in the line) as well. So I was out of luck... Instead Roman and I attempted to do some Christmas shopping (we went into 3 stores), and then had drinks and Dave and Busters... "

I mention this not only to remind everyone of just how popular Rachael Ray is, but also because Natasha has an interesting site. Check it out here.

Rachael Ray Goofs Up!

Those who like to criticize Rachael Ray for her perfect persona should reconsider their gripes. Rachael Ray is more than happy to fess up to her share of kitchen mishaps.

A recent ET piece includes some comments about Rachael's occasional kitchen errors.

Excerpt:

"Rachael admits that her food does not always come out perfectly, either. 'Sometimes things come out sloppy or they break,' she admits, 'but we still show them and I just turn to the camera and say, 'Hey, hope yours turns out better than mine.' Sometimes [those situations end up being] the best shows. That's what makes the show accessible to people; they see when we screw up too.'"

This is a fun little Rachael Ray article from an ET "Behind the Scenes Piece." You can read it here, Rachael Ray fans!

Racheal Ray Popular with Christmas Shoppers

A recent article discussing holiday shopping trends in the Napa Valley area made mention of the beautiful Rachael Ray.

At least one bookstore manager recognizes that Rachel Ray books are looking like popular Christmas gifts.

Excerpt:

"At Bookends on Coombs, store manager Barbara Heppe said, 'We're definitely getting holidays sales, but we're hoping it will get a little stronger as we get closer to Christmas. Maybe people will get tired of fighting those parking lots at the mall and come back to town.

'We're selling a lot of calendars, most popular are the classics like Sierra Club and 365 cats. ... We're selling a lot of cookbooks from celebrity chefs,' Heppe said. Rachael Ray, a chef-author and Food Network TV personality is really popular right now. For kids, they are selling a lot of Narnia, it's always a good Christmas item, but this year seems to be especially big because of the movie."
