Geniuses like those who populate the Rachael Ray Sux journal have come up with another gem--Rachael Ray Rules' Journal. Gee, as if there was not enough opportunity for angry kids and half-wits to insult Rachael Ray!
Anyway, the title is sufficiently misleading that if you see it in a search result you might just go ahead and click on it...Let me spare you the effort.
The site is rife with jokes that aren't funny, lots of profanity and very little creativity.
Gee, be sure to avoid it.
Looking for a link? Hmmmm.... Should I? Why not.... Feel free to stop over there and see just how juvenile and vile the whole thing is. If you can leave a comment or two indicating just how pathetic the whole endeavor is, so much the better.
Sad people congregate here when they feel particularly jealous of Rachael Ray.
Some Appreciation for Rachael Ray -- From a Feminist Lesbian Boxer
Never know where you are gonna find a Rachael Ray advocate. Perhaps on a site described as "what happens when intelligent feminish, excellent writing, and ass-kicking amateur boxing comes together"? Seems unlikely.
Hey, it happened. Brutal Women, the site described above contains some Rachael Ray coverage. The author admits to her secret crush on my favorite Food Network chef and talks about the fact her rags-to-riches tale is pretty inspiring.
Just goes to show you that Rachael Ray fans can come from a lot of different angles and some might even have a devastating right hook and a great critique of phallocentric society. If a feminist boxer can groove on the Yum-O Miss Ray, all the better!
Some of the comments find their way to the ever-so-popular Rachael Ray FHM pictures. You know, had she not done that photo shoot people would have a lot less to criticize...In any case, you can check out Brutal Women's take on Rachael Ray here.

Twenty Two Great Rachael Ray Pictures
I found an awesome gallery of Rachael Ray pictures that you may have missed. The photos of Rachael Ray were taken in December, 2004, at Sur La Table. She apparently visited the restaurant to do a book signing and there was a photographer there to capture a few great moments.
This gallery of Rachael Ray pictures might not satisfy the prurient interests of those seeking out the Rachael Ray FHM pictures or the non-existent Rachael Ray nudes I notice so many people searching for when I check my site's logs, but they are great pictures of the Food Network star.
Rachael is wearing a green scarf, a tan long-sleeved top, and is smiling in every picture that features her face! I was particularly taken by some really cute pictures of Rachael Ray wearing a Santa Claus cap (it WAS December, after all), and one snapshot of Rachael Ray playing with a baby.
Anyway, it's not every day you stumble across 22 pictures of Rachael Ray you haven't seen before, so I feel like I should let you go check them out. Here they are! Yum-O stuff, people.

Rachael Ray Wedding Picture Hunt Continues
Awhile ago, I provided you with the links to the two Rachael Ray wedding pictures I was able to find. So far, that is all I can muster! Can you believe that? I mean, a celebrity wedding and all anyone can find is two pictures? Amazing.
I am sure, in time, more Rachael Ray wedding pictures will show up. And worry not, I will be checking for them regularly and giving you the scoop as soon as I find more of them.
In the meantime, you will have to either make do with the two Rachel Ray wedding pictures already noted, or will have to just satisfy your needs by looking at other pictures of Rachael Ray, I guess.
Speaking of which, for those jonesing for Rachael Ray pictures, here is a link to a photo you may not have seen before. It's a picture of Rachael Ray smiling and just about to munch on some pizza (I think). Yum-O!

From EVOO to Yum-O: A Rachael Ray Glossary
At the site for Rachael Ray's new magazine, there is a nifty little glossary of "Rachael-isms" pulled from the November-December issue of Every Day with Rachael Ray.
One of Rachael Ray's most endearing characteristics is her use of little personal catch-phrases while hosting her cooking shows.
Most of them are pretty self-explanatory, and Rachael Ray probably didn't need to define them. I mean, what could "delish" mean other than "delicious?" But it's still a fun little piece and worth a look.
If you've ever wondered just hjow much EVOO is in two turns of a pan or whether or not you really need to answer the question "how good is that?" this may be just the page for you!
By the way, the page provides the link to where you can purchase your very own Yum-O shirt, just like the one you may have seen Rachael Ray wearing in some of the promotional photos for the new magazine.
Can you define "Yum-O?" If not, the answer is only a click away.

Bearrette Gives Rachael Ray Mag a Thumbs Up
Hey, there is sure a lot of anti-Rachael Ray garbage on the net. So, when I see a seemingly decent person--one whose life's aim doesn't appear to be inappropriately insulting people--with a comment of two about Rachael Ray, I like to pass on the info.
Bearrette24 is a New Yorker with a site on the same network that features yours truly, "On Rachael Ray Every Day." Anyway, I noticed she has a positive review of the new Rachael Ray magazine and I thought I would draw your attention to it.
She digs the recipes (oh, by the way the macaroni and cheese with the chiles IS as good as it sounds), liked the dog-related content, and thought the gift ideas were reasonable.
It's a nice little overview of the first issue of "Every Day with Rachael Ray" and is great example of how bright, real people look at the materials Rachael Ray produces.
Check out Bearrette's thoughts on the new Rachael Ray magazine right here.

New York Cops Love Rachael Ray
When five cops walked into a New York Barnes & Noble bookstore, store managers were worried that something criminal might be afoot.
There worries were unfounded. The five officers showed up to buy issues of "Every Day with Rachael Ray" and to meet Rachael Ray, who was there doing a book and magazine signing.
Apparently, members of the NYPD dig Rachael Ray just as much as the rest of us.
I learned of this via the Denver Post. There's not much more to the Rachael Ray cop story than what's above, but if you want to check my sources you can read it here.

Every Day with Rachael Ray Sneak Preview: Look Out for Chubby Chipmunk
A South Dakota chocolate store known as Chubby Chipmunk Chocolate may just show up in a future Rachael Ray magazine spread. According to an article originally written in The Black Hills Pioneer, the store's owner has stated he was visited by a photo crew for the magazine and may end up being featured in an upcoming issue.
Interestingly, the article mis-identified the title of Rachael Ray's new magazine. Instead of using the correct "Every Day with Rachael Ray," the article invented an alternate title, "On the Road with Rachael Ray" for the publication. Looks like the Black Hills Press editorial staff and/or fact-checkers might need to stop by this site and catch up on their Rachael Ray info before publishing articles!
In any case, I thought I'd mention the chocolate could be showing up in the magazine. That way, when you see it you'll say to yourself, "I knew about that from Ce's On Rachael Ray Every Day" website!
Oh, the article, wrong title and all, can be accessed here.

Visit from Rachael Ray Increases Restaurant's Business
Busick Court restaurant was already a pretty well-known and popular eatery in Salem Oregon before Rachael Ray showed up. The spot known for its banana and nut stuffed French toast and other treats is widely recognized as a top stop among Salem restaurants, having won the local newspaper's best breakfast award for several years running.
A visit from Rachael Ray, however, shows just how much oomph her endorsement can bring. Rachael Ray featured Busick Court on this season's premiere episode of her popular Food Netword show "$40 a Day." Since the, the restaurant has become even more popular. The Salem Stateman Journal says the restaurant achieved "iconic status" after the Rachael Ray show aired.
The article I read notes: "It made a huge impact when it was on the first time, and now, every time it re-airs, we get another big influx, and they all want the Banana-Nut Stuffed French Toast," said Becky Helser, a member of the Busick Court wait staff for seven years. Ray sampled the restaurant staple when she visited last year."
Just goes to show you that even an-already popular restaurant can still get a big boost from Rachael Ray. You can read the article about Busick Court here, but I don't recommend it unless you have already had your breakfast. The info on this Rachael Ray favorite will make a hungry person downright famished.

Random Rachael Ray Mention in Time
Time magazine has one of those little handy how-to articles about cutting household expenses. Nothing Pulitzer-worthy, or anything, but it's always nice to be reminded again of the ways we can save a buck or two without drastically altering our lifestyle. Anyway, Rachael Ray gets a mention in the article.
While talking about how one can reduce energy consumption in the kitchen, the article talks about "your efforts to emulate Rachael Ray."
It is, really, a random mention. No particular reason to bring Rachael Ray into the discussion. None at all. That's o.k., though. I see it as having symbolic significance.
When you feel compelled to mention Rachael Ray any time you reference anything about the kitchen, that just goes to show you how darn popular she is.
Rachael Ray, randomly mentioned in Time for a reason...Because she is hot. Red hot Rachael!
If you want to squeeze a dime instead of a lime read time (now, that's a rhyme).

Best Wishes for Clint Gilbert
While scouring the net for interesting Rachael Ray info, I stumbled upon an article about a California 15-year old who is prepping to receive a kidney transplant (courtesy of his father). Clint Gilbert currently does dialysis every day as he awaits the upcoming surgery.
The story probably isn't unlike many others. And all of them, of course, are touching and tug at any decent person's heartstrings a bit. This story was particularly interesting because the dad is the scheduled kidney donor. And it caught my eye because Clint has an interesting hobby for a high school freshman--he is a budding chef.
And, the article credits watching the Food Network as a source of his interest. It probably doesn't hurt that his father is involved in the food industry as a grocery produce manager, too.
In any case, the paper mentioned both Clint's interest in cooking and it mentioned Rachael Ray, the reigning queen of the Food Network. It didn't really say Clint was ga-ga for the yum-o Rachael Ray or anything. Just mentioned her as an aside--which was all it took for the search engine to shoot the article at me while I was looking for Rachael stuff.
But, I thought I would take the opportunity to let everyone know about this kid so that they could think of him for a minute or two and send him some good vibes.
On Rachael Ray Every Day sends its best wishes to Clint Gilbert!

Gothamist Responds to Rachael Ray Profile in NYT
The Gothamist had to respond to the Times portrait of Rachael Ray...And they did. If you are familiar with the Gothamist, you could probably predict what they would say...And your prediction would have been right.
First, they "refrain from commenting on how Rachael Ray's bra is totally showing in the NY Times photograph..."
And, they provide a handy link to the Rachael Ray sucks crowd over at livejournal.
They then try to make a cute little joke out of a violent mugging.
Really, the article is just a collection of links to some other resources and is positioned as a mini Rachael Ray bio. In reality, it's as if they felt they had no choice but to right something about Rachael Ray...After all, the big boys over at the Times did...
Yawn.
For those interested...Here you go.

How Cool is That? New York Times Profiles Rachael Ray
Hey, I get excited enough to post here when I discover a little two-paragraph blip about Rachael Ray in some smalltown paper. Imagine how thrilled I was to discover a 4 page--yes, 4 page--profile of Rachael Ray in the nation's most influential paper, the NY Times!
A great article...and a must-read for Rachael Ray fans. Yes, it features a candid picture of Rachael Ray spending some time with her family in her cabin. Yes, it provides a nice Rachael Ray bio. Yes, it discusses her new magazine, Every Day on Rachael Ray. Yes, it provides some interesting tidbits and facts you probably didn't know (did you know Rachael Ray was mugged while living in the city???).
And, as the advertisers like to say, there's more! The Rachael Ray article in the NYT also spends a lot of time on Rachael's mother, as a way of getting the reader to develop an understanding of the popular cookbook author and television star.
What I really enjoyed about this extensive piece was how all of the facts and anectdotes combined to paint an overall portrait of Rachael Ray. Additionally, I thought the piece was pretty fair--although it focused on Rachael's successes it also dealt with some of her detractors and outlined some of the bumps that might be ahead as the Rachael Ray career continues to soar.
There were so many great quotations, I found it hard to pull just one great excerpt to entice you to read the whole Rachael Ray article. So, I am going to hand you the conclusion to the article and let you go read everything the NYT has to say about Rachael Ray:
"This thing took on a life of its own," she said. "It's my job to keep working because now there is this thing that people depend on." To make it work, she intends to keep doing what she has always done: show up, work hard and listen to her mother. "My life came out way better without me planning it," she said.
Read all about Rachael Ray here!
Note: I am not sure, but I think you might be required to register before reading the Times' Rachael Ray piece.
Also, I was sort of miffed that the paper was willing to provide a link to the Rachael Ray haters out there while skipping over all the great pro-Rachael Ray resources out there. I know, that is sort of a petty grip, but still.....

Rachael Ray Picture - Evening Gown
Found this picture of Rachael Ray in a white evening gown. It's definitely worth a look for those of you who are Rachael Ray picture fans!
Definitely from an awards ceremony, and I think you'll recognize the dude standing next to Rachael Ray in the photo. She looks pretty in white--not that same glow as in the Rachael Ray wedding pictures--and is smiling happily, as usual.
It is here.

On the Lookout for More Rachael Ray Wedding Pictures
Well, the first two Rachael Ray wedding pictures have made there way to the light of day, and I can only imagine there will soon be more following. Stay tuned for more... I will let you know where to find them as soon as possible.
A curious thing with the two Rachael Ray wedding pictures I mentioned in earlier posts... I found both on a site called Merri Musings... When searching for more, I found that author's same article was the only one (aside from a Rachael Ray fan site) to have the pics. There were other sites (primarily blogs) that had the Merri Musings' article about the Rachael Ray wedding pictures, but all of them seemed to have simply picked up the original feed.
I am wondering if MM was the first to have them, or if it was the Rachael Ray fan site I mentioned. Either way, it's interesting that all of my searching has not turned up the Rachael Ray wedding photos anywhere else. I am sure that won't be the case in a short while and we will soon be knee-deep in Rachael Ray wedding pictures!
In the meantime, Rachael Ray fans, you'll have to do with the Rachael Ray - John Cusiamo wedding shots I have found so far.

Another Rachael Ray Wedding Picture
Told you there would be more links! Here is another photo taken at Rachael Ray's wedding.
This one is a little fuzzy, but after this long of a wait any Rachael Ray wedding photo looks good to me.
You get a nice look at the exact nature of Rachael Ray's wedding dress (Vera Wang, in case you forgot) in this snapshot.
Enjoy the Rachael Ray wedding picture here.

Rachael Ray Wedding Picture! Finally!
I was so excited to post this that I sent the title flying through cyberspace all on its lonesome the first time--my fingers were flying that fast.
Here is the moment all Rachael Ray fans have been waiting for...The Wedding picture...
You can see Rachael Ray and her new hubby John Cusiamo right here:
The bride and groom both look great (no surprise).
This is sure to be the first of many wedding picture links, so keep yours eyes peeled (but don't use a Furi to do it)!

Give the Gift of Slicing and Dicing - Rachael Ray Knife is Hot
Rachael Ray fans know she dumped the Wusthof brand knife some time ago and is now fully supporting the Furi 7" East/West Coppertail knife.
Rachael Ray's upscale blade has been a hot item on wedding registries and will certainly be in high demand as Rachael Ray fans write up their Christmas wish lists. I found one here retailing at $69.99.
It's been described like this:
"Use the knife that Rachael uses on her latest TV shows. Patented "grippy" orange silicone polypropylene handle in an inventive wedge shape helps keep hand from slipping toward the blade when wet - the direction that counts. Enjoy the rocking/sawing motion of a chef's knife and the chopper work of a Santoku. Hollow-edged blade reduces friction for easier slicing. Blade bolster and tang are forged from a single piece of fine German stainless steel. Hand wash."
A quick google on the Furi will show you just how in-demand the Rachael Ray knife appears to be. Wonder if she used a Furi product to slice her wedding cake?
Santa, take note. Only $70. And I could use a new Coppertail blade!

Rachael Ray Fundraiser at Hgh School
Back in April 2005, Rachael Ray went back to her high school alma mater in Lake George, NY, to help raise funds for the schools multimedia center.
At the event, Rachael Ray signed cookbooks and (not surprisingly) prepared some signature recipes for the "hundreds of North Country residents" who "came out to see the queen of the kitchen."
Apparently, she has come to the event a few times, as she stated:
""You know it's always great. It's really exciting to see so many people come out in your own community. Just to say hi, we like what you're doing. And it's a bonus that we get to give some money back to the school."
I found this information at capitalnews9.com and it features the article, along with a picture of Rachael Ray (vid cap) and a link to watch the actual television news story about Rachael Ray.
So, what could be better than spending a few minutes reading about Rachael, checking out a Rachael Ray picture and watching a Rachael Ray video?
Thought so. Thus, I present you with the link.

Garlic Toast and other Rachael Ray Recipes
While appearing on WBUR's Here and Now in 2003, Rachael Ray made some tasty recipes. I have found them and thought I would pass them along.
Personally, I enjoyed the very simple recipe for Garlic Toasts for Crostini, which is the first Rachael Ray recipe listed on the page. I think it really encapsulates what makes Rachael such a cooking icon--simple, tasty and quick.
You can check out that Rachael Ray recipe and a few others here.

Rachael Ray Travel Interview
Budgettravelonline supplies a nifty little interview with Rachael Ray about her travel history and preferences.
By the way, she will take an aisle seat over a window seat when flying.
It's a fun Rachael Ray interview because the questions don't revolve exclusively around food and it allows the reader to get a look at more of Rachael Ray's personality.
Personally, I thought her anectdote about wanting to be a professional "casual observer" as a child was a hoot.
Rachael Ray does talk a little bit about food in the interview, of course, particularly about how she survives airline food. Rachael Ray says:
"This funny thing I got in Flight 001, called the In-Flight Food Survival Kit. It's got all of these little spice tins, plus individual packets of mustards, sauces, and condiments. It's got about 20 different spices and I use it on in-flight food and sandwiches. I love it. It's my favorite little thing."
You can read the whole of the interview here.
By the way, she will take an aisle seat over a window seat when flying.
It's a fun Rachael Ray interview because the questions don't revolve exclusively around food and it allows the reader to get a look at more of Rachael Ray's personality.

Courtesy of Oprah, you can watch Rachael Ray provide some handy kitchen tips right on your computer.
One of Rachael Ray's guest appearances on the mega-popular talk show resulted in the footage being made available online. You can "escape the same old same-old with tips on everything from soup to nuts from the Food Network's star chef," according to the site.

How Old is Rachael Ray?
Rachael Ray was born on August 25, 1968. Thus, she is 37 years old.
I provide this little blip because my research indicates a lot of people are trying to find the answer to the question "How old is Rachael Ray."
If you are interested in more of these biographical facts, I would suggest checking the many online Rachael Ray biographies out there. Including the many I have linked to on this site. You can just search this site with the bar on top of the page and find a lot of Rachael Ray information that way.

Rachael Ray FHM Pictures Information
For those who are curious, the infamous Rachael Ray FHM pictures originally appeared in the magazine in October 2003. It was a three-page spread of Rachael Ray and featured an interview with Rachael Ray, as well as the sexy photos.
Although the pictures are not hard to find (I have provided links to the Rachael Ray FHM pictures several times on this site), I have not yet found the text of the FHM article and interview with Rachael Ray on the internet.
If I am able to find the Rachael Ray FHM interview, I will post the info here.
Now, if you must see one of the ubiquitous Rachael Ray FHM pictures right this very second, there is one here. Looking for the others? Feel free to search this site using the bar on the top of the page.

King World Provides Rachael Ray Biography
The press release offered to spread the word about Rachael Ray's upcoming talk show features a pretty extensive Rachael Ray biography that is probably worth a look if you want more details about Rachael Ray and her rise to stardom.
King World, the production company affiliated with Oprah, put out a release giving a lot of information about the new Rachael Ray television show. In addition to statements regarding Rachael Ray and the talk show, the statement does include Rachael Ray biography notes and can be found here.

New Yorker Cartoon Parodied Rachael Ray
According to World Hum, "Arnold Roth and Mike Albo have a funny cartoon spoof of Ray on page 66 of the Sept. 19 issue of The New Yorker, billing her as the host of a new television show, “Funky Food Courts,” wherein she explores the food options “at the rest stop off I-95 near Wilmington.”
I won't reprint the entire description of the Rachael Ray cartoon, but will instead direct you to the ones who let me know about it.
You can find World Hum's coverage here.
Unfortunately, the comic ain't online, so you'll need to hit the public library or something to dig up a copy--unless you're a subscriber already.

Rachael Ray Compares Favorably to Competition
I don't know Ron Beagle, but he's described as an "aging, semi-hysterical retired reporter." Nonetheless, I thought it was worth noting that Ron reports to the Roanoake times that he likes Rachael Ray a wee bit more than that well-known insider trading gal who thinks she knows when something is a "good thing."
Beagle notes that the competition doesn't always produce "the kind of show that would bring you to your knees with awe."
With respect to Rachael Ray, however, he notes "Rachael Ray's cooking show -- which I watch while no other adult is present -- is a trifle more lively than Martha's new offering. Old Martha would have to reinvent herself to wear hip-huggers like that or chop celery that expertly."
You can read Ron's comments here.

New Rachael Ray Magazine Extremely Hot
According to Media Life, the new Rachael Ray magazine, Every Day with Rachael Ray is selling very well.
According to the article, "There has been so much demand for Ray’s magazine, Guilfoyle says, the initial printing of the magazine has been increased twice, to 950,000 copies, and subscriptions are already selling briskly on the magazine’s web site. The new title will be distributed nationwide in supermarkets, specialty food stores..."
If you haven't seen it yet, Every Day with Rachael Ray is a lot more than simply another cooking and recipe magazine. Although food still plays a prominent role in the magazine, Every Day with Rachael Ray also looks at travel, entertaining and a variety of other concerns. They are calling it a lifestyle magazine, not a food magazine.
The Media Life article explains: "Now Rachael Ray, the ever-bubbly Food Network star who popularized speed cooking with her "30-Minute Meals" TV program and cookbooks, is about to launch her own food magazine: Every Day with Rachael Ray. The new glossy bimonthly, set to debut next Monday, Oct. 25, and coming from the publishers of Reader's Digest, will cover such topics as food, entertaining, travel and style and will initially boast Ray’s face on every cover."
Judging by the need for extra printing and great subscription sales, it looks like Every Day with Rachael Ray is on its way to being a big hit!

Ask Rachael Ray Anything
I know I am supposed to be doing everything I can to convince you that On Rachael Ray Every Day is the ultimate Rachael Ray resource. You know, remind you of all the Rachael Ray picture links, the regularly updated Rachael Ray news, all of the links to Rachael Ray bio info, etc.
But, nothing beats getting the straight scoop right from the proverbial horse's mouth, so I draw your attention to an alternate resource that might supplement what I am able to do here at Every Day on Rachael Ray. I refer, of course, to Rachael Ray's site for her new magazine Every Day With Rachael Ray. In particular, I'd like to point out a cool online form you can use to ask Rachael Ray a question directly.
I have no idea how many questions Ray will answer or how often Rachael will be dispensing wisdom, but it is a neat idea.
You'll see the box where you can enter your query right next to the picture of Rachael Ray smiling while wearing a Yum-O t-shirt.
Just go here.

Rachael Ray Victim of Terrible Picture
Hey, maybe you came looking for a Rachael Ray picture link or two, huh?
Perhaps you wanted to find high-res versions of the famous Rachael Ray FHM pictures, or maybe a candid pic of Rachael Ray? Maybe even a Rachael Ray bikini picture? Perhaps you are one of those people out there fruitlessly searching for a Rachael Ray nude pic?
Well, I have a link to a Rachael Ray picture today that will surely be shocking!
Unfortunately, it ain't gonna satisfy the prurient interests of Rachael Ray admirers out there... Unless of course, their particular fetish involves cartoon illustrations of Rachael Ray which inadvertently make the food hottie look repulsive.
Rachael has a deal, apparently, with Dannon yogurt. And right on the back of some of the packaging is a little illustration of Rachael Ray. And let me tell you, it is not flattering. Not even close.
The person who provides the photo of the Dannon Rachael Ray drawing says it makes her look like a "horrid, bag-eyed, pig-nosed goblin with blue and green-streaked hair. "
I think that sums it up so nicely I have nothing else to add.
The authors of the article where I found this monstrosity, however, did have a little to add: Rachael Ray's recipe for Sesame Noodles, which they vouch for as a great meal.
So, you can see the injustice done to Rachael Ray while reading a great Rachael Ray recipe.
I guess one must take the good with the bad.
Here is the link.
And remember, she's a cutie! Don't let the Rachael Ray cartoon make you forget that!

Libraries Note Rachael Ray's Popularity
I found this article about which books and authors are in the highest demand for St. Louis area libraries at stltoday.
The regulars are there of course: Grisham, anything that Oprah's Book Club hyped, etc. But also mentioned prominently was Rachael Ray.
We all know the cookbooks from Rachael Ray sell well, but it was interesting to note there is a strong demand for Rachael Ray books from library patrons, too.
The article notes this in mentioning Rachael Ray's popularity:
"Popular books at Indian Trails right now include cookbooks by Rachael Ray of the Food Network, instructional books on SAT and GED tests and all of the erotic novels by Zane."
So, you can study for the big test, get turned on by some erotica, and make a Rachael Ray recipe all in the same night--if you get lucky enough that the library has everything you need in stock.
There you are.

Rachael Ray Mention in Retro Food Article
The Philadelphia Inquirer recently offered an article about what is seen as a "retro food" trend that includes a mention for Rachael Ray.
The article details a growing trend among cookbooks and chefs toward offering recipes that harken back to older, staid recipes and comfort foods. Sometimes the recipes are provided as flashbacks to days gone by, other times they are offered with a modern twist.
Whether this movement reflects a lack of creativity, a desire to connect with the past, or simply an understand that some recipes are timeless is not really settled by the article. I happen to think it is a combination of all of those factors.
The Rachael Ray mention states: "Even foodie Rachael Ray has got into the act with her retro-metro version of tuna casserole - made with fresh tuna, of course."
Personally, I think Rachael Ray often supplies recipes that are at least premised on traditional dishes and/or comfort foods and believe she always has.
If this is a growing trend, it can only serve to further help Rachael Ray's career. However, I think that if Rachael is cashing in on the movement, it is more of an accidental boon to her. After all, she has been supplying these kind of recipes (in addition to truly creative new fare) for a long time in her string of successful cookbooks and television shows.

Article Provides Rachael Ray Bio and Local Perspective
The Saratogian recently put out an article about Rachael Ray. It doesn't cover a lot of new territory, but since it originates from an upstate New York source (Rachael's home area), it is interesting to get a little local flavor injected into the coverage.
The article refers to Rachael Ray as the "perky girl from Lake George" and reviews her successful string of television and other food-related projects.
The author believes Rachael Ray has found a good combination for mega success: combining speed with an accessible message.
He also notes that there are a lot of people who find Rachael Ray annoying and discusses the anti-Rachael backlash out there. The author opines that:
"Culinary geniuses can look at Ray the same way a studied writer reads at John Grisham, or a serious musician watches American Idol. Another way for American-born 'critics' to look at it, is understanding what every immigrant coming into the country already knows: In America, anyone can make it."
The article also provides some information about Rachael Ray's husband, John Cusiamo and discusses his band and musical influences.

Site Proclaims Jorja Fox a Rachael Ray Lookalike
Flawlessattrocity writes that "one cannot resist the inherent adorablenessitude of Rachel Ray." I couldn't agree more!
In the same post, it is also noted that Rachael Ray may have a lookalike: Jorja Fox, a star of the television show CSI.
I have to be honest, I am not the biggest CSI fan. I have watched the program a few times, but I am much more likely to be watching $40 a Day, 30 Minute Meals, etc. than I am Jorja's show. That's why I doing On Rachael Ray Every Day instead of On TV Cop Shows Every Day, I guess.
But, the evidence is sort of impressive. There is a Rachael Ray picture and a Jorja Fox picture on the same page, and you can definitely see the similarities.
I am not yet ready to call Fox Rachael Ray's separated at birth identical twin, but based on the Jorja Fox and Rachael Ray photos, one right after the other, I can see the resemblance.
Long lost twin or just sort of a mild resemblance? You decide. Here.
Still, the evidence is impressive.

Jill Finds Inspiration in Rachael Ray
Sure, this is not like Giant Rachael Ray news, or anything, but I wanted to point it out for a reason.
I found this nifty little weblog by a couple named Jill and Eric. It's a personal site, not really issue-specific. In fact, they say it is home to their "odd ramblings."
Jill wrote about a Rachael Ray recipe she adapted (albeit smokily) for her own use. She provides her version of the recipe and details her response to what sounds like a great meal.
Now, the fact she was inspired by the Food Network's Rachael Ray is great, but the reason I found it interesting is because Jill adds: "To all the foodie snobs out there, I would like to thank Rachel Ray for her cooking inspiration."
I think that sort of encapsulates why Rachael Ray is so popular. Lots of "food snobs" seem to find Rachael Ray annoying and others dismiss her as a sub-par super chef. But Rachael ain't a chef, she admits that. She's a cook. And an inspiration.
And seeing regular (it seems) people mention specifically that they were inspired by Rachael Ray says a lot. And, I suppose, it shows something of the character of those constantly hating Rachael Ray.
Here is what Jillian and Eric have to say about things, specifically Rachael Ray.

Unable to Find New Rachael Ray Magazine
"Looked in two stores for Rachael Ray's new magazine, which was due to be released today, but no luck yet."
That quote from Sweetnicks in New Jersey, a fine blogger!
Well, I only looked in one shop, but had similar luck! I was unable to find Rachael Ray's new magazine, Every Day With Rachael Ray at the bookstore today.
Two possibilities: (a) Rachael Ray is so hot right now that her magazine sold out almost instantly and I just missed out or (b) at least some areas experienced delivery delayes for Every Day with Rachael Ray.
Either one is equally likely.

This Site Outperforming Rachael Ray's Magazine Site (for Now, Anyway)
I am sure that will change in a hurry. After all, I am not a designer or anything and the good people at Reader's Digest will surely get Rachael Ray's new site up and running perfectly soon.
I am referring to Rachael Ray's new site for Every Day With Rachael Ray. For those of you who stumbled here drunk and without any clue, Rachael Ray's new magazine is a lifestyle publication covering recipes, shopping, kids and more. It is seen as a competitor Ms. Stewart's mag.
Rachael Ray's magazine's site, however, is not fully operational yet. It does feature a sort of blurry picture of Rachael Ray doing guess what? Cooking? No, gotcha! She's doing a bit of flower shopping.
You can see the still-not-quite-ready product here. Of course, by the time you read this any problem they might be experiencing will probably be corrected. I cannot imagine anything with which Rachael Ray is involved staying too flawed for any more than 30 Minutes, right?

Rachael Ray Cookbooks Are Very Popular!
According to Bookselling This Week, in July Rachael Ray had five of the top 50 bestselling cookbooks in the country. Amazing! Five different Rachael cookbooks tearing it up at the same time. Now, that's what I call popular!
Rachael Ray's 30-Minute Get Real Meals topped the charts and four other titles made the top 50 cut.
I will have to look when I have some time to see how she's doing on the list right now, but I have every reason to believe that Rachael Ray, as popular as she is right now, is probably still right up there on top.
Take a trip in the wayback machine all the way back to July, 2005, and see how Rachael Ray ranked among the top cookbook authors simply by clicking on this link.

A Rachael Ray Bio for Ya
Not a ton of new info, but a nice little encapsulation.
Seems like quite a few people stop by On Rachael Ray Every Day searing for "Rachael Ray Bio," so I figure I should oblige them when I stumble across something relevant.
Here's a little family information about Rachael Ray from the bio:
"Lives in the Adirondacks with her dog, a cat and two fishes. Has a brother named Emmanuel (Manny) and a sister named Maria. Moved to upstate New York when she was in first grade. Her family owned several restaurants called the Carvery, in and around Falmouth and Mashpee, Massachusetts."
You can read the rest of Rachael Ray bio right here. Wait, I mean right HERE.

Pathetic and Sad: Anti Rachael Ray Petition
On one of those online petition sites, some whiz kid has set up a petition to have Rachael Ray removed from the Food Channel. The petition has been signed and commented upon by numerous ingrates.
Well, here's the deal. I am sort of bummed by all of the folks who feel a need to gripe incessantly about someone who is clearly among the most popular celebrities and authors of the day (Rachael Ray). So, I would like to respond a little bit to their foolishness.
I am not gonna provide a live link to the site, but if you want to read it, you can do so by going to this site:
http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/RachaelRay
Warning: Not surprisingly, many of the people involved in this little spurt of bad manners use less than family-friendly language in their gripes.
OK, now I am not gonna spend a lot of time trying to defend Rachael Ray. I think she does that very well on her own by producing some great recipes, books, television shows and magazines. What I am going to do instead is take a look at what the petition actually says. It is shocking how simple-minded some people can be. Those getting on Rachael Ray's case are certainly in that crowd.
The petition author writes:
"Rachael Ray's television shows on the Foodnetwork are apolling to food lovers all across America. She has her 30-minute meal show where her meals are grotesquely simple. She has no culinary training, how the hell did she get a show? Her next show called $40 a day, is also apolling. EVERY single item she devours, Rachael is in bliss. She has to have some sort of negative critique on her food. I cannot believe that every dish she tries is the most wonderful piece of matter she has ever tried. KICK HER OFF THE FOODNETWORK!"
(1) "Apolling" is not a word. Not even close. If you are going to issue some sort of giant petition, it may be a good idea to nail the spelling words used to weed out kids in the first round of local spelling bees. Of course, Rachael Ray is not "apolling," but she isn't "appalling," either.
(2) "Grotesquely simple" makes no real sense. To be grotesque is generally understood to be distorted, unnatural, or (in the alternative), ludicrously odd. How anything could be unnaturally simple (an oxymoron) is difficult to grasp. Especially in the context of a Rachael Ray recipe. Or, can you imagine anyone complaining "that Rachael Ray recipe is ludicrously odd in its simplicity?" Thought not. I think the petitioner is probably trying to say that Rachael Ray makes quick and easy dishes instead of complicated gourmet meals. Congratulations, kiddo, that's the point. It isn't called 4 hour and 20 minute meals, after all.
(3) I hate to break it to the genius petitioner, but the shows are not filmed live and they are edited. Thus, the positive reaction to the dishes served on $40 a Day. The idea is not to provide unbiased assessments of every restaurant Rachael Ray visits. Instead, it is to demonstrate where good food values can be found in different cities and to remind us that we can find delicacies of all sorts on a budget.
Additionally, if Rachael Ray were to react negatively on-camera to a meal, there are potential liability problems for the production, it could result in fewer invitations to film on other locations, etc. Plus, it wouldn't be particularly entertaining.
(4) "FOODNETWORK?" Try Food Network next time. Additionally, in an age where almost all of us have literally hundreds of channels from which to choose, why would anyone need to see anyone kicked off any channel when they need only slightly depress a single finger on a remote to tune in something else. Sick of Rachael Ray? Turn the channel.
Oh, and television networks are prone to make decisions less on the basis of gripes from malcontents with spelling and logic issues than they are on the basis of ratings. You can't tolerate Rachael Ray? Guess what, buddy, a far more significant portion of people feel the other way and love Rachael Ray. Thus the multiple Rachael Ray tv shows, the new Every Day with Rachael Ray magazine, etc. etc. etc. And, by the looks of it, she connects with the right demographics which means advertisers want a connection. Which means teenage boys with internet access will probably fail to dethrone Rachael Ray as America's cooking queen.
Thus concludes that little pseudo-rant about those who feel it necessary to criticize my fave, Rachael Ray.
NY Daily News Provides Great Rachael Ray Bio, Article
Hey, a quality pro-Rachael Ray piece appears in the major media!
The NY Daily News has a really neat article on Rachael Ray that details her growing success and shows just how awesome she is at advancing her career despite some vocal detractors.
An excerpt: "'In the coming days and months, the host of "30-Minute Meals," "$40 a Day," "Tasty Travels" and "Inside Dish" will be serving up even more helpings of her unsinkable can-do brand. A bimonthly magazine from Reader's Digest - Every Day With Rachael Ray - will hit city newsstands a week from today. Her latest cookbook, "Rachael Ray 365: No Repeats - A Year of Deliciously Different Dinners," is coming out Nov. 1. And next year, this everycook will launch a talk show thanks to backing from media megapower Oprah Winfrey. Her fans, who could survive on an endless buffet of all things Ray, delight in her career developments ("Oh my gravy!" you can almost hear them exclaiming, echoing a favorite Rachael-ism)."
Oh, the article also mentions what Rachael Ray has done since her wedding to John Cusiamo--honeymoon, of course. In Africa of all places!
Well, you know you want to read it, so go ahead. It's here.

Not a Rachael Ray Wedding Picture, but Next Best Thing?
Despite tireless efforts, I have yet to secure a location where one can find the hotly pursued wedding pictures of Rachael Ray, our dear celebrity cook and author.
As much as we'd all love to see that magic photo of Rachael Ray feeding John Cusimano that first slice of wedding cake (and maybe even doing the whole "crush the cake into the face" thing), for now we might have to settle for something like this.
This is an article from an Arizona source about just how darn popular Rachael Ray is. It sort of details one of her days while filming a $40 a Day episode in Miami, including a stop at Gloria Estefan's restaurant.
Some of the interview snippets from Rachael Ray are interesting, and overall it is a very positive piece (which is a departure from a lot of the "Rachel Ray is annoying" stuff you see on the internet).
It also includes a picture of Rachael Ray feeding John Cusiamo some of a turkey sandwich. It's a great pre-wedding picture of Rachael Ray and John. If you sort of squint at it and imagine Rachael's casual outfit replaced with a wedding gown, you can almost imagine it is a reception picture from Tuscany.
OK, maybe not. But we all must make do with what we have.

Rachael Ray Picture - Cartoon
You've probably seen Rachael Ray's cookbook for kids, and if so you may have noticed the cartoon picture of her on the cover.
There are a lot of people searching for pictures of Rachael Ray everyday, and I thought some of them might get a kick out of having access to this cartoon pic of Rachel Ray.
The best part about this one is that it removes Rachael Ray from the rest of the people illustrated on the cover, leaving you with just a whole lot of (comic book style) Rachael Ray.
You know that old sort of joke about who was hotter: Wilma or Betty? Well, in terms of illustrated ladies, I would have to now say that this drawn version of Rachael Ray trumps them both.
Observe.

Rachael Ray Among Top Ten Beauties...Sort of...

I found a LiveJournal site that had a list of the author's 10 Most Beautiful People.
Rachael Ray comes in at #5 on the most beautiful list.
Caveats: (1) The list is not any sort of sweeping objective assessment of beauty. It is one person's opinion. (2) The list is comprised 1/2 of people the author knows, half of celeb-types. (3) President Carter is #1.
With those grains of salt ingested, you can tell folks that our cookbook hero, Rachael Ray, is among the ten most beautiful people alive.
Here is the author's list, including Rachael Ray.
A Favorite Rachael Ray Recipe
I know, you already have the cookbooks. You already TiVo every episode of every thing Rachael Ray does. You have already committed multiple Rachael Ray recipes to memory. This post offers you nothing new, right?
I don't care. Because I like Rachael Ray's honey-vanilla lemonade. In fact, I love it.
I dig lemonade. That whole sweet vs. sour battle going on all over the tongue. Yummo, for sure. But, I particularly love the way Rachael Ray's recipe for honey-vanilla lemonade (hereafter HVL) adds another component to that whole scene. Gotta love honey.
So, enjoy a great Rachael Ray refreshment. Vouched for by your Resident Expert, the recipe is easily locatable right here.

Rachael Ray as a Fan - Picture
Occasionally you find pictures of Rachael Ray with her fans. I found one of Rachael Ray just being a fan!
She is, not surprisingly, a fan of the rock band The Cringe. Why is that not a surprise? Because Rachael Ray's husband is in the band!
Via The Cringe's home, I found this photo of Rachael Ray enjoying the music! So, here is Rachael Ray, America's sweetheart chef and soon-to-be talkshow hostess, just kicking back to some rock n roll!

On Rachael Ray Pictures and Searchers
As I have mentioned a couple of times, my stats show a lot of people wandering in looking for photos of Rachael Ray. Sometimes they are looking for pictures of Rachel Ray (the most common misspelling, and even more common among those looking for pictures).
Those photo-hunters, obviously, are no surprise. Rachael Ray is a cutie and the male libido is--well, it is what it is. Knowing that many would be looking for pictures of Rachael Ray (often the FHM pictures) I started this site knowing I would be doing surfers a disservice if I didn't provide at least the occasional link to photos. Thus, I regularly provide links to Rachael Ray pictures.
What is sort of a surprise is some of the pictures people are looking for. People searching for "Rachel Ray pictures" or "sexy Rachael Ray photographs" are expected. What has shocked me a bit is that a lot of people are looking for very particular (and highly unlikely to say the least) snapshots. Nude, sure, whatever. But let's just say there are some real Rachael Ray fetishists out there who never cease to amaze me with their kinky searches!
I won't go into detail.
But, I will mention that I am not the only one experiencing the Rachael Ray Picture Hunter phenomena. I found this entry at a site called Avacado Green. Apparently, the author had written something about Rachael Ray and noticed that "one wayward internet surfer" was looking for some nudie shots. He mentioned that fact on his site and has now found more and more people searching for more and more potentially perverted photos of Rachael Ray.
If you want to read the article you should know it uses a little coarse language and the subject matter is already, you know, a little on the adult side. So, without further ado...

Rachael Ray Does a Good Deed
I know, Rachael Ray has been blessed and is in a position to do nice things for people. And, all things considered, she should do them and expect (and get) no special recognition for them. Considering her massive success it is the least she can do. Blah Blah Blah.
I don't want to make every Rachael Ray good deed into A Reason To Canonize St. Rachael or anything. However, as much anti-Rachel Ray stuff as there is floating around in cyberspace, I do feel it appropriate to let the world know when I find out about a Rachael Ray good deed.
Charity auction for UNICEF. Top chefs donated autographed jackets for the auction.
Rachael Ray participated.
Event, undoubtedly, turned out to be a great success.
Many criticize Rachael for being some "lesser" form of life than their favorite attitudinally-impaired haughty chef. Interestingly, she was right there among many of the hot-shots for this little function.

New Rachael Ray Television Show - News
Generally, I like to encapsulate a news item, maybe provide a quick quotation and then refer you to the full item in its original glory. But, with this PRNewswire piece on the forthcoming new Rachael Ray television talk show, I figured I would just lay out a big ol' chunk of it.
Why the departure from form? Well, I have noticed a lot of people are stopping by with some pretty vague searches about the new talk show starring our favorite, Rachael Ray. In an effort to provide the kind of information visitors really want (and in a hurry--I am always inspired by Rachael Ray's efficiency, you know), I figured I would just go with the long quotation.
So:
""People know me for my love of food, but I have so much more I want to share," said Rachael Ray. "Our show’s going to be all about taking a bigger bite out of life. I want people to see themselves in this show, because life is full of messes and successes, and getting there is half the fun."
Dubbed by Newsweek as "the most down-to-earth TV star on the planet," and by Entertainment Weekly as "the next domestic goddess," Rachael Ray is already a familiar face to millions of TV viewers as host of the Scripps-owned Food Network’s popular series, 30-Minute Meals, $40 a Day, Inside Dish and Tasty Travels. She’s also the best-selling author of ten cookbooks, with another due out in November, and her new, monthly magazine, Every Day with Rachael Ray, debuts next month.
"Rachael Ray is a terrific talent, whose positive energy, infectious smile and dynamic personality jump right off the television screen," remarked King World Productions CEO Roger King. "She’s already made a mark for herself with a legion of fans, and her star is going to keep rising for many years to come. And, what a thrill it is to partner with Oprah on producing daytime’s next big hit. I can’t wait to start selling this exciting, new, quality show."
"From the moment I had Rachael on my show earlier this year, I knew she had ’it,’" said Oprah Winfrey. "She has that connection with her audience that most people only achieve one-on-one."
"We’re excited about working with Rachael and King World to launch what we believe will be another syndication success," added Tim Bennett, President of Harpo Productions.
"You know the real deal when you see it, and that’s exactly what Rachael Ray is," declared Terry Wood, President, Creative Affairs & Development for King World Productions and Paramount Domestic Television. "We already know Rachael can make life easier in the kitchen, and now she’ll do it for people in all other aspects of their lives. Rachael has a huge connection with the audience, and her comfortable, relatable style makes her perfect for daytime television."
The new series, to be based in New York City, will be produced by King World Productions in association with Harpo Productions and Scripps Networks, Inc. and distributed by King World. Ray will continue to appear on the Food Network."
Now, let it be known that there is a lot more in the original article (or news release, if you prefer). Good reading for all Rachael Ray fans!
You can read it here.
Word of warning, I have experienced a little Danish pop-up on that page. No biggy, but worth a mention.

Foodie Lauds Rachael Ray for Garbage Bowl Innovation
"One of the FoodTV hosts that can grate on my nerves a bit is Rachael Ray. She's just a bit too perky and giggly for me. On the other hand, she also is the person who introduced the 'garbage bowl' concept to me.
It's a simple concept, really. I mean, it's so obvious, and I don't have a clue why I never really thought of it. But basically, she always has a nice, big bowl sitting next to her on the counter as she cooks, and she tosses garbage and waste into it as she goes."
So begins a nod of appreciation to Rachael Ray, "inventor" of the garbage bowl in an article at Cuisine Capers, a really fun food-related site.
Well, if you have ever watched Rachael Ray whip up a 30 Minute Meal, you have seen the garbage bowl. Efficiency is key to making a dish in .5 hr. and the garbage bowl seems to be a key to that efficiency!
I thought it was nice to read something from someone who may not be the world's biggest Rachael Ray fan but is still willing to admit a good idea when it pops up.
Check it out.

Observations on Meeting Rachael Ray
This blogger met Rachael Ray.
And liked it.
He says Rachael Ray has very small hands and is very tan. He describes the whole process of meeting Rachael Ray at a book signing and seems remarkably impressed with our favorite Food Network star!

Rachael Ray Profiled - Biography & Feature Story
Great new article about Rachael Ray at American Profile. Certainly a must-read for any Rachael Ray fan. Features a smiling Rachael Ray picture and a lot of quotes directly from Rachel Ray!
I really enjoyed the article's main perspective--that Rachael Ray is an incredibly popular cook and author because she is willing to be less than perfect! In an era of megalomaniacal stars with zip-code-worthy egos, a person like Ray is a real find! Down to earth, honest and pleasant without the haughtiness and snobbery too often apparent in chefs!
The opening sentence sets the article's tone: "One of the secret ingredients to the phenomenal success of TV chef Rachael Ray is the little dash of imperfection she adds to most everything she cooks."
In addition to outlining Rachael Ray's biography and discussing her rapidly increasing popularity, the article provides plenty of details to remind us of her human (as opposed to celebrity) side.
Rachael Ray says: "You can have a big ego and be a great chef, but that’s not my job. It’s my job to teach people and appeal to all different lifestyles, age groups and backgrounds.” And I suppose that about says it all, really.

Rachael Ray Backs Sharpener

If you like Rachael Ray, trust her sincerity, and need to sharpen some knives, you should know she endorses the Furi Tech Edge knife sharpening system.
You can read Rachael Ray's commentary about the system, along with a photo of Rachael Ray sharpening a Furi knife here.
She says, in part the sharpener is quick, easy, and produces sharp edges.
Well, Rachael Ray was paid to talk about how yum-o Burger King sammies can be, and I have to disagree with her on that, but I trust Rachael Ray when it comes to backing knives and sharpeners.
Rachael Ray Found on Diet Pill Site????
In my neverending search for awesome Rachael Ray information, I stumbled across a site for the oft-advertised diet pill Cortislim. You know, the ones with the horribly annoying ubiquitious ads.
Well, right there on the site was a picture of dear Rachael Ray with her arm around someone I am guessing works for Cortislim, which is weird.
Lo and behold many other celebrities photographed with the Cortislim peddler. What in the heck is going on?
Well, it turns out these pill peddlers were involved in providing "luxury" items for gift bags handed out to celebrities at the daytime Emmy's. They took advantage of that to snap a bunchy of pictures, including the one of Rachael Ray.
Now, they are presenting these photos of Rachael Ray and others in a way that at least sort of implies a product endorsement without really implying a product endorsement--if you know what I mean. You know, they make some general comment in print about how daytime stars have their secrets and that some embrace the product's "lifestyle." Then, they run with the pictures and let you draw your own connections.
Thus, Rachael Ray appears to sort of maybe endorse some pill even though she probably does not.
In any case, it is a picture of Rachael Ray and my stats indicate a lot of people are looking for pictures of Rachael Ray, so I will provide you with the links.
Here, the photo by itself.

Uncle Crizzle Laments Rachael Ray's Wedding
Uncle Crizzle's Wide, Wild World of Pop (authored by Craig Lindsey) at the News & Observer, recently bemoaned Rachael Ray's wedding.
This guy is heartbroken at Ray's marriage.
In part, he writes, "I even defended you to co-workers when they said your voice was too chirpy and those meals you cook take more than the alloted time to prepare. And this is how you repay me?
I’ve been sitting here, can’t get you off my mind. I try my best to be a man and be strong. I drive myself insane, wishing I could touch your face. But the truth re . . . mains . . . you’re . . . GONE! We could’ve made it baby, me and you!"
Oh, for every person who is happy that Rachael Ray got married, another is heartbroken. Read Crizzle's despairing commentary here.

Stuart Weitzman is running an interesting fundraising auction to support breast cancer research. Celebrities, including Rachael Ray, have designed oversized shoes as art for use in the charity auction.
Rachael Ray is among many Food Network celebrities to design shoes for the program. Rachael Ray's breast cancer awareness contributions appears to be a powder blue stilleto replete with chef's hat and kitchen timer.
Bids are already over $1,000, it appears.
The Rachael Ray shoe is described like this:
"In true Rachael Ray fashion, her shoe design showcases the ingredients from a delicious Italian recipe she picked up on a tasty travel adventure— “You Won’t Be Single For Long Vodka Cream Pasta”. The cooking timer surely tells you this is the “30 Minute Meals” girl who changed the way America looks at dinner.

Every Day With Rachael Ray Coming in October

According to USA Today, the first issue of Rachael Ray's new magazine, Every Day with Rachael Ray, will hit newsstands on October 15. The article about the cook's new magazine features an interesting interview with Rachael Ray.
When asked about the magazine's potential success, Ray responded:
"I have absolutely no idea. My job is to make it the best I can. I am not trying to please all people, not trying to be something I'm not. We did the best job we could to create a magazine that's simple, fun, direct and original. You know, great chefs eat scrambled eggs at home, too, and really, who can't use another good quick recipe?"
The new magazine, which has been followed by news of an upcoming Oprah-supported talk show, seems a likely success.

New Rachael Ray Show to Start Fall 2006
Now that it's been officially announced that Rachael Ray will be hosting her own hour-long talk show in cooperation with Oprah Winfrey and Harpo Productions, everyone is probably wondering just how long it's going to take before we get to see the program.
According to Reuter's rundown of the official announcement of Rachael Ray's new show, episodes should be made available to television stations in Fall, 2006.
Until then, I guess, one will need to satisfy their Rachael Ray fix by watching all of her Food Network shows.

Rachael Ray Hour-Long Talk Show on the Way
Rachael Ray and Oprah will be teaming up to produce an hour-long Rachael Ray hosted talk show! The show will not focus exclusively on food, although it is hard to imagine cooking will be overlooked with Rachael Ray as a host!
Rachael commented: "People know me for my love of food, but I have so much more I want to share. Our show's going to be all about taking a bigger bite out of life. I want people to see themselves in this show, because life is full of messes and successes, and getting there is half the fun."
The show will be produced by Oprah's production company, Harpo, and it sounds like all parties are super-excited about the project.
Stay tuned to Every Day on Rachael Ray for all the details as they become available!

If you love Rachael Ray so much you want to keep her right on your computer monitor day in and day out, you can do that!
I found these two Rachael Ray wallpaper offerings at The Rachael Ray fanlisting site. And, yes, of course, they make use of the Rachael Ray FHM pictures. The strawberry-eating seductress photo or the bra-clad chocolate licker models are both available.
Maybe some of Rachael Ray's wedding pictures will leak out soon and give us some alternative material for PC wallpapers, huh? In the meantime, here they are.

Why Do They Hate Rachael Ray?
That's the question posed in an Oregonlive.com piece on pop culture. This apparently regular little column talks about Rachael Ray in between DVD reviews and a one-paragraph book syopsis.
The answer to the question (never mind who THEY are in the first place) is that a lot of people are not fans of cute or perky people and Rachael is both. Also, it notes that those who went so far as to set up an anti-Rachael Ray community on the internet don't care for her frequent use of chicken stock or evoo.
Anyway, more attention given to those who like to claim Rachael Ray is annoying and here I am feeding right into it by writing about the people writing negative things about Rachael Ray.
I'd give the link, but it really doesn't contain enough about Rachael Ray to bother.

Rachael Ray Top 5 On Thanksgiving Wish List
Curious, but related to Rachael Ray...
USA Weekend has released a food poll. One of the questions posited was something akin to "who would you like to cook your Thanksgiving dinner?"
Dear Rachael Ray finished fourth overall in the results. She was edged out by "spouse of significant other," "mom," and Emeril. Martha Stewart finished in fifth, behind Rachael Ray.
Fourth among dream cooks ain't bad, but I just don't see Emeril ranking higher. Sure, he's great. But, come one, who needs Thanksgiving kicked up a notch and super-spiced. I think Rachael would certainly put together a more down-home tasty traditional Thanksgiving. I understand people voting for "mom"--we all have a soft spot for good home-cooking.
Rachael, however, might have been victimized by a miscount. Suppose Rachael Ray's new spouse was among those polled and he indicated he would like to have his wife cook Thanksgiving dinner? The generic "wife vote" might have been registered instead of "Rachael Ray." Longshot, but I am looking for any way to push Rachael up in the standings!
The rest of the food poll is sort of interesting. Some of it is less than interesting. Pass judgment after reviewing here.
