Rachael Ray Wedding Update! Rachael Ray Married!

Congratulations, Rachael Ray!

The news broke today that Rachael Ray married longtime boyfriend John Cuisamo on Saturday. The ceremony occured in Montalcino, Italy.

With all of those television shows, the new Every Day with Rachael Ray magazine and the possibility of a syndicated cooking show (Oprah is involved in that project so it should be big), one wonders how Ray would have been able to keep up alone, nonetheless with a spouse to deal with! Luckily, the couple will never have to wait more than 30 minutes for supper, I guess.

Seriously, though, congrats to Rachael and John.

Rachael Ray Not a Wedding Planner

I know everyone is excitedly looking forward to info regarding Rachael Ray's wedding (which by now should be official and a honeymoon underway). But, as of yet, I have found no real information of note regarding the actual ceremony.

But, here is a little nugget related to Rachael's wedding that bears some attention. While filming for her "Rachael Ray's Tasty Travels" show (another Food Network classic, I am sure), Rachael gave the local Austin, Texas, paper a soundbite or two!

In addition to gushing over some tortilla-crusted shrimp at an Austin eatery, Rachael commented on her wedding. According to the noted cookbook author and tv star, ""My mom and boyfriend planned the wedding," she said. "I'm just showing up."

That's Rachael at her casual, laid-back best, I guess!

You can read more about Rachel Ray's Tasty Travel to Texas here. The article also features a smiling Rachael Ray picture, as she poses in front of some heaping portions of Tex-Mex.

Rachael Ray Cooked at Heart Hospital

Until Rachael Ray you knew one thing for sure.
Hospital food stunk.

But one day at St. Anthony's heart facility changed all of that. For that brief moment, the chow was great. Why? Because the hair-net ladle-wielders took a back seat to Rachael Ray!

The Food Network star cook, Rachael Ray, helped celebrate the facility's anniversary by giving an exhibition on cooking heart-healthy 30 minute meals.

Over 400 gathered to see Rachael Ray in action!

What did she cook? Check out the list and recipes here!
And, Rachael, way to go! What a nice cause to support.

Are You Rachael Ray? I'm Alton Brown

Are you Rachael Ray? Well, not literally. Maybe you are, and if so, hi, Rachael, love you. But what I meant was are you like Rachael Ray? Do you resemble Rachael Ray in personality, attitude or behavior? Do you say EVOO? Just kidding on that last one.

You know those little online quizzes you can take and they then tell you "who you are?" Like, which character from Good Times are you? Based on your answers to a few questions about your personality type, they decide you are Ned the Wino or whatever.

In any case, I try to avoid those quizzes like rare monkeys avoid poachers, but I just couldn't pass this one up...

This quiz lets you answer a short series of questions and then determines which Food Network celebrity you are most like. Since I am here with this positively pro-Rachael Ray vibe, I guessed I would end up as Rachael Ray.

Nope. Alton Brown. Which is cool, too, I suppose.

But maybe you ARE Rachael Ray. Take the quiz and find out.

Don't cheat, though. If you answer the questions honestly you might get a reasonably fair assessment of your tendencies relative to those of other Food Network folk. You can, however, sort of figure out which answers will lead to which conclusion, so it takes some resistance.

Well, are you Rachael Ray? Are you? Huh? Find out here.

Unfortunate Pictures of Rachael Ray

OK, we have all studied the October 2003 FHM pictures of Rachael Ray and have undoubtedly scoured the net for other photos of Rachael in hopes of satisfying both our fandom and potentially prurient interests.

Let me remind you all that I love Rachael Ray and am not even coming close to inching toward the bandwagon of those who dislike my favorite food celebrity. However, I saw this page and its comments and decided it was worth bringing to your attention.

This little entry by Jennypower relates to two photos of Rachael Ray. One is a cookbook cover, the other a shot taken at a cooking event near the beach (that is why Rachael is wearing a bikini in the picture). Jennypower critiques the two pictures in a fairly respectful way why still getting a few good digs in. I can appreciate poking some fun at anyone--even Rachael Ray.

I spend most of my time hear gushing about Rachael and sometimes I think it is a good thing to issue a reminder that none of us are flawless, even Rachael.

Jennypower thinks the blush Rachael is wearing on the cover shot makes her look cheap. And she is not impressed by cooking in swimwear.

However, in fairness she tempers her critique by mentioning that Rachael is probably a nice person and is "very charming." She also acknowledges that there are some real nice abs in the Rachael Ray bikini picture.

Well, I now plan to return to authoring posts that are completely positive regarding Rachael Ray, but in the meantime, you can take a look at this slightly critical entry here.

More About Every Day With Rachael Ray, Rachael Ray's New Magazine

One can hardly call a carefully written press release news, but the release heralding the upcoming Rachael Ray magazine does contain enough information to warrant a nod.

Here's an excerpt:

"With great food at its heart, the new full-size glossy magazine will project the can-do spirit of Ray's television shows and books, which invite people to get the most out of life every day. Mirroring her high energy and friendly manner, the magazine will offer smart and easy recipes for an array of delicious foods, as well as practical advice on food destinations and entertaining. Ray will also take readers around the country to meet people who love food -- from top celebrities to authentic artisans to great home cooks. Every Day with Rachael Ray will debut in September with nationwide distribution. "

Sounds good, huh? I like the idea of a magazine trying to copy the attitude and spirit of Rachael Ray. This one promises to be a favorite!

Here's the press release. Yes, I am just sending you to what is basically an advertisement. But, then again it is an ad for Rachael Ray's new magazine, so live with it!

Order Every Day With Rachael Ray

You can reserve your copy of Rachael Ray's new magazine, Every Day With Rachel Ray, by clicking here.

It promises to make "cooking a blast." And knowing what we know of Rachael, that is probably gonna happen!

The sign up page tells us what to expect in the new magazine, which should be delivered in October, 2005.

In every issue we will get some of Rachael Ray's 30 minute meal recipes, information regarding what is hot in real American kitchens, some of Rachael Ray's low-key, down-to-earth tips about entertaining, information on kitchen basics and tools, and a lot more.

I really should try to find some sort of deal where they pay me to get people to sign up for this new magazine. I think it will clearly trump both Oprah and Martha Stewart and will be one of the most immensely popular aspects of Rachael Ray's career!

Well, get your issue reserved already!

Rachael Ray Bikini Pictures: Addendum

I found another page of Rachael Ray pictures. Looks like they came from the same episode of $40 a Day. These feature Rachael lounging by the pool. Again, shorts and bikini top for Ms. Ray.

I mention this because I know you all want the link and because I was wrong in my last post, perhaps. I thought the pictures of Rachael came from a Hawaii episode. According to the fine print on this page, they came from the Palm Springs episode.

In any case, enjoy your link to Rachael Ray swimsuit pictures here.

Rachael Ray Pictures: Rachael Strips to a Bikini

I know, some of you are undoubtedly a bit displeased with my seeming infatuation with photos of Rachael Ray. But, let me defend myself a bit.

First, Rachael Ray is hot. No doubt about that! She is cute, sexy, etc. So, who can blame me for liking Rachael Ray pics?

Second, I am not alone. One thing I learned in a hurry when starting up On Rachael Ray Every Day is that many many surfers come seeking pictures of Rachael Ray.

Sure, we should be talking about roasting vegetables, how much evoo one should use and all of the other cooking-related things that come with Rachael Ray territory. But, I think a few photo links now and then are a pleasant diversion. Agreed? Thought so.

Anyway, I found this little collection of twelve Rachael Ray pictures. If memory serves me correctly, I believe these may have come from a $40 a Day show in Hawaii. It features Rachael Ray in a bikini top and shorts. If you ever wanted to see screen captures of Rachael Ray pulling off her shirt and sitting on the beach in a swimsuit, feel free to check it out.

Enough of the build-up...You can see Rachael Ray bikini pictures right here.

Rachael Ray Pictures Found

If you'd like to gaze on the countenance of Rachael Ray or perhaps download a few photos to make your Rachael shrine collage or a background for your monitor, I found a site that offers quite a few photos of Rachael Ray.

Rachael Ray pictures on this site include quite a few taken at cookbook signing(s), some pics from television appearance (the Oprah Show, Daytime Emmy's, etc.) and (of course) the ubiquitous Rachael Ray FHM pictures that remain such a hot item.

There are around forty pictures of Rachael Ray, so feel free to get your fill of Rachael Ray photos like I did. You can find the pictures of Food Channel Superstar Rachael Ray right here.

Brief Rachael Ray Biography

A lot of you have probably found this all on your own already, but just in case I thought I would point out the Rachael Ray biography at Wikipedia. This brief biography of Rachael Ray touches upon some of the key elements of her cooking and television career.

In addition to providing a rundown of Rachael's television shows like Inside Dish, Rachael Ray's Tasty Travels, 30 Minute Meals and $40 a Day, it also offers a brief character sketch of Rachael Ray, mentioning her catch-phrases like EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) and her "aversion" to precise measurements in cooking.

What I like about the Wikipedia biography of Rachael Ray is that several words in the biography are linked to more information. For instance, the piece explains that Rachael Ray uses a satoku chef's knife on the show and that, because of the exposure, sales of the knife shot up. Well, the name of Rachael Ray's knife is hotlinked so you can go directly to another page about the santoku, etc.

Interestingly, this Rachael Ray biography features one of the infamous FHM photos. And, as one might expect, the biography mentions that Ray was voted among FHM's 100 Sexiest Women of 2004.

Did you know Rachael endorses Price Chopper stores? I found that nugget, as well as other information of interest right here.

Rachael Ray Interview / Spaghetti & Meatballs

Found an interesting bit of Rachael info at homeschoolzone.com of all places!

The brief article features a Rachael Ray recipe for Weekend Spaghetti and Meatballs from her "Comfort Foods" recipe book.

It's a (predictably) easy and quick little recipe and looks pretty darn good, too!

There is also an interview with Rachael at the site. It's pretty brief and generic, focusing on the advantages of recipes that can be prepared in short order in today's time-tight times.

Nonetheless, it is a Rachael Ray interview, so it is worth reading. Even if the interview ain't so hot, one could always use a spaghetti and meatballs recipe! Find them both here.

Do They Find Rachael Ray Annoying or Hypnotic?

Most fans of Rachael Ray know there is a certain contigency of folks who are not very impressed with her. They don't like her television shows, personality or silly little catchphrases that some of us find endearing.

Well, after hearing so much about those who find Rachael Ray annoying, I decided to go and see for myself what they disliked oh-so much.

I still don't have a good answer. The anti-Rachael Ray people seem motivated by the ol' green monster called jealously as much as anything. I happen to think that the success of someone who is so down-to-earth and real might make some people feel shown up, so to speak.

I mean, if Mr. Harvard MBA succeeds, one can write it off to a great education, a probable family history of success and advantages, etc. In other words, one doesn't have to feel bad about falling short of Mr. Harvard's achievements--he had the inside edge, right?

When a real person like Rachael Ray makes her way up the ladder from food job to food job and finds herself a massive success and celebrity,
it's hard to say that it's because of the system or whatever. Successes like Rachael Ray inspire some of us, but I think there are others who just feel sort of like they aren't measuring up.

I don't know if that makes a ton of sense, but hopefully you get my message. People might think Rachael Ray is annoying, sure. But many of them probably think that because she is an achiever and they are not.

The other thing I noticed about Rachael-Ray haters is that they seem to be somehow hypnotized or obsessed with Rachael Ray's television shows and appearances. Post after post on the anti-Rachael site takes aim at very specific things she did, said or wore on particular episodes of her shows. This means these people who think Rachael Ray is so annoying are apparently watching her very regularly and closely.

Makes you wonder.

Most of the time, I give you a link to check things out. In this case, I will pass. I don't feel like linking to people who hate Rachael Ray or think she is annoying.

I like Rachael Ray, after all!

Is Rachael Ray Married? No Word Yet if Wedding Done

Well, Rachael Ray let everyone know she was marrying her boyfriend in September 2005, so with the month almost over we can probably assume the vows have been exchanged. However, I have not yet found any confirmation that Rachael Ray is married.

The wedding was planned for this month in Tuscany, Italy. Although planned as a casual affair, Rachael Ray's wedding dress was a designer spectacular and the ceremonies were to occur in a castle!

I am guessing Italy was chose as the site for Rachael Ray to marry, at least in part, because she has some Italian ancestry (based on some biographies of Rachael Ray I have read online).

In any case, I am hoping to eventually get all of the info on Rachael's wedding and maybe even to supply you all with some links to Rachael Ray wedding pictures when available.

Keep checking back for information about Rachael's wedding!

How Old is Rachael Ray and When is her Birthday?

Rachael Ray was born on August 25, 1968. So, based upon my math, Rachael Ray is 37 years old.

I mention this because I get a fair number of folks who ask me "how old is Rachael Ray?" or "when is her birthday." It isn't hard information to find or anything, but I thought some of you might be interested.

So, you can circle August 25 on your calendar and celebrate Rachael Ray's birthday every year. Call it EVOO Day or try to eat on $40 or make supper in a half-hour in her honor every 8/25! Ha!

Rachael Ray FHM Pictures Get Visitors

I just finished putting up the post with the links to the Rachael Ray FHM pictures when I found an interesting piece on the subject and thought I would share.

Apparently, the author of Notmike.com, a sort of personal site, made mention of a plan to cook Rachael's "60 Minute Thanksgiving" dinner.

Soon thereafter, he found himself bombarded with visitors searching for nude photos of Rachael Ray and the infamous Rachael Ray FHM pictures. I guess having the word "nude" near Rachael Ray will get you some attention among surfers!

Well, I just used those very phrases, so I suppose I can now look forward to visitors hoping to find those nonexistent nudes of Rachael Ray, too, huh? That's OK maybe they will stick around and learn a little bit about Rachael instead of just looking at her posing for FHM.

Anyway, the article is actually well-written and an enjoyable read. I know it is not the MOST relevant thing about Rachael Ray you will find here, but it is worth a look.

You can certainly tell the author of the piece is a guy who both likes seeing revealing photos of Rachael Ray but who also recognizes that things like this can have a real impact on how a person is perceived. Excerpt: "I mean…in one she’s pulling a freaking turkey out of the oven, wearing a black lace bra, a miniskirt/apron, and stiletto heels. In another, she’s holding an apple pie while wearing a denim and gingham plaid bustier and micro-mini. In yet another, she’s sitting on a sink counter, dishwashing suds dripping down her legs, and she’s wearing a metal-studded white leather bikini.

The slutty wholesomeness (or wholesome sluttiness) of these pics is so bizarre, I don’t think anyone could keep a straight face while perusing them.

On a serious note, though, such photos beg the question, “Is this all just harmless fun, or does it perpetuate the stereotype that a beautiful woman cannot be taken seriously?” Since I am neither of the above, I can never truly know what it feels like to not be taken seriously based on such factors. I don’t really know if this is empowerment or degradation. I do know that I will have a hard time putting these pictures out of my mind from now on when I watch her cooking shows."

You can check it out here.

OK, there are two groups of people who are looking for Rachael Ray on the internet. There are those who love $40 a day and all of the other great projects in which Ray is involved. Then, there are those who want to see pictures of Rachael Ray in sexy clothes!

Of all the things Rachael Ray has done, one of the most notorious was posing for a series of cheesecake photos for men's magazine FHM. In the photos, Rachael Ray, although not nude, wears some pretty revealing clothes and poses sexily in kitchen-related scenes.

Rachael Ray Biography Provides Interesting Facts

Even though the site is devoted to film, the Internet Movie Database includes a "mini" biography of Rachael Ray. The Rachael Ray bio is not necessarily comprehensive, but does include some interesting trivia facts.

The biography of Rachael Ray includes a brief overview of her history in the food business, culminating in her status as a Food Channel superstar chef and television host. It also mentions her breakthrough tv appearance on the Today show, as well as touching upon her status as a best-selling writer and author of numerous recipe cookbooks.

This anonmymously-written biography of Rachel Ray includes some interesting trivia facts about the cook:

For instance, did you know Rachael Ray has a plaque inside her lakeside home that says "Martha Stewart doesn't live here?"

Rachael's grandfather was a immigrant from Sicily who settled in the Adirondacks.

Do you know Rachael's pets' names? If not, you can find out by reading this brief biography of Rachael Ray here.

Rachael Ray's Wedding to be Casual

Sure, the dress will be Vera Wang, but in Rachael's defense she picked it out in less than a half-hour and it was the cheapest in the store!

In any case, Food Network star Rachel Ray will be tying the knot this month and the wedding, like her cooking style, will be casual.

According to the Detroit News, Ray has advised those on her guest list that they can come in blue jeans.

But it's not all run-of-the-mill. Vera Wang is style top-drawer and she is getting married in an Italian castle.

Rachael Ray Proclaimed America's Darling

An article at the Philadelphia Daily News begins:

"MEN OGLE HER, women wish she was their daughter, and kids watch her more than SpongeBob Squarepants these days."

To whom are they referring? You guessed it! Rachael Ray.

The ultra-positive article about Ray discusses both her upbeat persona and her remarkable success as a cook, author and television standout.

Although the net may have its share of Rachael Ray haters, The Philadelphia Daily News article was certainly written by a Rachael Ray fan!

You can read the story about magazine magnate Rachael Ray here.

A Rachael Ray Interview Worth Reading

Popcrazy.com features an interview with Rachael Ray in which she tackles a lot of fun questions. The $40 a day diner discusses food (of course) as well as her personal life and even provides her assessment of how she might stack up against the Iron Chefs.

Check it out, it is a good fun read. And, if features a picture of Rachael Ray sticking out her tongue as well as one of her being crazy and cross-eyed!

According to Rachael, if she had only $5 to spend for a day, "I would buy a bloody mary at happy hour -- gazpacho with a kick."

Read the whole interview here!

In Defense of Goofy Rachael Ray

Jill Hunter Pellettieri, writing on Slate.com, comes to the defense of our beloved Rachael Ray in an article called "Why Food Snobs Should Quit Picking on Her."

Jill acknowledges that Ray has many detractors. Her aversion to specialty ingredients, her kitschy dish names, her frequent silliness and even her magazine spread (posing in a serious of sexy pictures for FHM) have led many to dismiss her as a flaky goof. As a result, there are a few Rachael-haters out there.

The article, however, explains part of Rachael's great success--her understanding of how people really cook and what they really like to eat.

Rachael Ray cookbooks might not feature the most exotic gourmet fare, but they provide what Alton Brown might simply call "good eats." Additionally, as the article noted, Rachael is an entertainer as well as a cook.

Rachael Ray Started with a Burn!

According to her Food Channel bio, Rachael Ray's first memory was about (surprise!) cooking!

While watching her mother working in a restaurant kitchen, Rachael decided to mimic her and ended up burning her thumb. This kitchen mishap remains her first vivid memory.

She puts it like this: "My first vivid memory is watching Mom in a restaurant kitchen. She was flipping something with a spatula. I tried to copy her and ended up grilling my right thumb! I was 3 or 4."

Spelling and Misspelling Rachael Ray

Rachael Ray is a Food Channel superstar, noted author, cooking expert, television star, magazine model (I have to acknowledge the pictures of Rachael Ray from FHM).

Despite her success, however, alot of people apparently have a hard time spelling Rachael Ray's name correctly! Here are some common misspellings one can see Every Day...

Rachelle Ray
Rachel Ray
Rachael Raye
Rachel Raye
Raches Wray
Rachal Ray
Rochelle Wraye

Etc., etc. etc. You can imagine all of the variations!

In any case, it is spelled RACHAEL RAY!
